At the El Paso Transportation Authority (ETA), planning helps us design better transit for our community. We look at how people travel, listen to rider feedback, and use data to make decisions about routes, schedules, and future improvements.
Our goal is simple: provide safe, reliable, and convenient transportation that connects El Paso today and supports growth for tomorrow.

For several years, the El Paso Transportation Authority (ETA) has worked to expand and enhance public transportation services throughout El Paso County, particularly in areas outside the City of El Paso’s transit service area served by Sun Metro. ETA’s services include fixed-route transportation (ETA paseo), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) complementary paratransit (ETA access), on-demand microtransit (ETA ándale), and a vanpool program (Vámonos).
As El Paso County continues to grow, ETA is working to right-size its transit system and position it for future growth and new funding opportunities. As part of this effort, ETA has identified several transit service changes that will take effect Sunday, October 4, 2026.
ETA retained the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) to assist with the development of the planned service changes. The proposed changes were presented to, discussed by, and approved by the ETA Board of Directors at its meeting on September 2, 2026.
